I’ve been obsessed with all the woven cane decor that has been trending recently. I’m not sure what it is about it, but I think what grabs me is that it is literally a natural material woven to make a pretty pattern.
As a designer, I am always thinking about how I can collage together texture, pattern, and depth, all elements that create a design to hold your attention, and woven cane does this so well!
This “woven” cane patterned gift box obviously isn’t actually paper woven together, but I like that this quick-to-cut free SVG file nods to the traditional craft of weaving cane.

The hand-dyed, natural silk ribbon is from The Maple Den (follow Ashton on Instagram here). The cardstock used is my favourite affordable cardstock from Michaels Recollections.
