Oh Christmas Tree Cricut Card – CACS Holiday Edition

Creating this Christmas tree card with your Cricut is quick and simple, with just three main layers and a star for decoration. I love that when opened and set upright, it doubles as a festive display piece for your loved one.

Materials required:

 

  • Cardstock in various colors
  • Glitter
  • Double-sided adhesive
  • Craft Glue

Step 1: Set Up in Cricut Design Space and Cut Out

 

  1. Download and Upload: Once you’ve received the Day 2 email, download the design and upload it to your Cricut Design Space Canvas.
  2. Attach the Score Lines: In the layers panel, select the vertical lines and change them from a cut lines to a score lines under the operations panel. Then, attach them individually  to the card bases (the Christmas tree layers) by selecting both the base and the score line, and clicking “Attach” at the bottom of the layers panel.
  3. Cut Out the Card: Follow the prompts in Design Space for scoring and cutting.
  4. Fold the Layers: Using a bone folder, carefully score each layer of the Christmas tree in half.

Assembly Instructions

 

Step 2: Layering the Design

 

Attach the Inner Layer: Using double-sided adhesive tape, attach the inner layer, aligning it to the bottom of the card.

Affix the Top Layer: Next, attach the top layer to create the ornament design, aligning it to the top of the tree/star.

Attach the Star: Finally, secure each half of the star to opposite sides of the card.

Step 3: Embellish with Glitter

 

For an extra touch, you can apply craft glue and flock your tree with glitter! Allow to fully dry prior to handling.
