Getting your free luggage tag SVG from the Gilded Stork Craft and Resource Library
You can find and download the SVG cut file from the Gilded Stork Design Files Library here.
Materials You Will Need:
Leather or Faux Leather
Needle and Embroidery Floss
Step 1: Cut Out the Free SVG Using Your Cricut Machine
Begin by downloading and uploading the free SVG luggage tag. Load the chosen design into your Cricut Design Space and let your machine do the hard work of cutting it out! Ensure you have the appropriate settings for cutting leather.
Step 2: Use a Bone Folder to Score the Cut Out Luggage Tag
After cutting out the tag, use a bone folder to score along the bottom. This will make it easier to stitch the tag neatly in the next steps.
Step 3: Stitch the Tag Using Needle and Embroidery Thread
Thread your needle with embroidery floss and stitch along one side of the tag.
Once one side is complete, proceed to stitch the other side.
This step also adds handmade charm to your luggage tag.
Step 4: Make the Bow
Take a separate piece of embroidery thread, knot it, and stitch through the center of both bow elements stacked together.
Fold one side of the bow over, secure with the needle and thread, then repeat for the other side.
Tie off and cut the excess thread.
Loop the small rectangle piece over the center of the bow and stitch to secure at the back.
You now have your completed bow!
Step 5: Attach the Bow to the Tag
Decide whether you want to sew the bow on the top or bottom of the tag, based on your aesthetic preference.
Step 6: Cut Out the Tag Insert
Print and cut out the tag insert from the provided PDF.
For added durability, cut a piece of acetate to place over the tag insert, protecting it from wear and tear.
This DIY project allows you to personalize your luggage using your Cricut machine and the provided free luggage tag SVG. Feel free to experiment with different materials and colors to make each luggage tag a one-of-a-kind creation.
