Free Vintage Frame SVG Design – Cricut Scrapbooking

Use this free vintage frame SVG to make scrapbook layouts, cards, and more!

I’ve been currently working away at scrapbook layouts, trying to fill an album full of our memories from the past few years with our first daughter before the new baby arrives. I had so many 4×6 and 5×7 prints scattered around our home, I’ve set out to organize them all in one special place (part of my nesting projects!).

Most of my layouts are simple and photo-heavy, but I love balancing those pages with something a little more unique—like a layout featuring just a single photo in a framed design. It creates such a beautiful contrast and really draws attention to that one special moment.

Today’s free SVG is a perfect example: an intricate frame design, inspired by a vintage carved wood frame I found at a thrift store a few weeks ago. I fell in love with its detail and character, and I knew I wanted to translate that into a paper design for my scrapbook.

Making the Frame

I decided to glue the intricate carved design directly onto a 12×12 cardstock page, which I cut to include a 4×4-inch window for the photo. However, if you’d prefer, the SVG design also comes with a backing layer for the frame, giving you more flexibility in how you choose to use it.

Below are some visuals of the layered elements to help guide you through the process.

Layer 1 – I chose a matte black cardstock.

Layer 2 – Next I used an orange foil cardstock.

Layer 3 – Then I used a light pink matte cardstock.

Layer 4 – Lastly I used a matte gold foil cardstock.

Even if you’re not into scrapbooking, this frame design would still be perfect for other creative projects. I think it would look stunning as part of a handmade photo card or even mounted on a mat inside a decorative frame. The possibilities are endless for adding a personalized touch to your photos!
