Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting Your Heart Box
After downloading the template from the Gilded Stork Library, open Cricut Design Space and upload the file to your canvas.
Once the template is on your canvas, adjust the top lines to set them as score lines. To do this, use the “Operations” dropdown menu. Then, attach the score lines to their positions at the bottom of the layers panel to keep everything aligned.
Follow the prompts in Design Space to score and cut out your heart box. If you don’t have a scoring tool, you can delete the score lines in the design and manually score the cardstock using a ruler and a craft knife or bone folder.
For the box with a window, cut the window shape from plastic acetate and create the frame using adhesive-backed cardstock or foil for a polished, professional finish.
Assembling the Heart Gift Box
Position the acetate window inside the heart opening. Then, place the adhesive-backed material over it to secure the window and create a polished frame.
Next, use a bone folder to fold along the score lines, shaping the box as you go.
Slip the triangle shaped tab into the square indent to begin securing the bottom of the box.
Then slip the remaining left and right tabs into the square indent.
Lastly, secure the tabs and the side tab of the box using double-sided adhesive tape.
Fill your Cricut heart-shaped gift box with treats and a touch of tissue paper for an extra-special gifting experience!
