Step 1
Download the design from the Gilded Stork design files library, then upload the design to your Cricut Design Space.
Once placed into your canvas, change the top layer to score lines in the operations panel, then attach these score lines to the box at the bottom of the layers panel. Next, follow your machine’s prompts to score and cut.
Step 2
Once the scoring and cutting is complete, fold along the scored lines using a bone folder.
Step 3
Enhance the cottage’s aesthetic by adding glitter to the roof using a brush and white glue (the scalloped edged end of the box) to create a snowy appearance. Additionally, customize your a-frame by adding embellishments like sequin windows or cardstock doors.Step 4: Tie a knot to create a loop with a piece of ribbon. On the opposite end of the scalloped edge, thread the loop through the hole and secure it with a small piece of scotch tape.
Step 4
Tie a knot to create a loop with a piece of ribbon. On the opposite end of the box’s scalloped edge, thread the loop through the hole and secure it with a small piece of scotch tape on the inside of the box.
Step 5
Assemble your a-frame cottage box by bringing the triangle-shaped sides up. Fold the straight-edged roof (with the ribbon) over the triangles flaps/tabs, then fold the scalloped roof over the box and pull the ribbon through the second hole. Place the tab within the small insert, and if desired, secure your gift box closed with another small piece of tape.
