Cricut Gift Box with Handles – Free SVG Design

Free SVG: DIY Cricut Gift Box with Handles – Perfect for Any Occasion!

I love creating resources that Cricut crafters can customize and use for their own projects, and one of the things I’ve been working on is adding more packaging and box templates to the blog. Today’s new free design is a versatile Cricut gift box SVG that’s perfect for personalizing for any holiday, party, or gift!

You can use the design with or without the handles. The handles are a great spot to add a name or message—wrapping the text around them creates a unique and personal touch!

Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Your Gift Box

  1. Download and Upload the Template
Begin by downloading the template from the Gilded Stork Library. Open Cricut Design Space and upload the file to your canvas.
  2. Adjust Score Lines
Once the template is on your canvas, modify the top lines to function as score lines. Use the “Operations” dropdown menu to make this adjustment. Then, attach the score lines to their correct positions at the bottom of the layers panel to ensure proper alignment.
  3. Score and Cut the Box
Follow the prompts in Design Space to score and cut out your gift box. If you don’t have a scoring tool, remove the score lines from the design and manually score the cardstock using a ruler and a craft knife or bone folder.
  4. Fold Along the Score Lines
Once your template is scored and cut, carefully fold along the score lines to begin shaping your gift box.

  1. Assemble the Box
Attach the top of the box by applying double-sided adhesive to the tab and pressing it firmly in place.

  1. Secure the Box End
Apply double-sided adhesive to the straight edge tabs on the end of the box and press them firmly against the inside to secure the shape. Leave the rounded edged tabs for the box opening.

  1. Attach the Handles
Once the box is fully assembled, secure the handles to either side using double-sided adhesive or another fastening method.

  1. Secure the Handles
Finally, bring the handles together and thread a piece of ribbon through the hole, tying it securely to complete your gift box.
