I spent an evening the other week relaxing by painting my husband’s prayer plant, the leaves are too pretty not to paint!
After I was done, I thought they’d look fun in pattern form so quickly did up this design. I found a passion for designing patterns in college while taking a surface design course. We mostly think of patterns as being merely decorative and don’t realize how patterns affect our daily emotions. A busy and bold pattern on your living room curtains might make you feel energized during the day, but that room probably isn’t the best place to be when you’re wanting a relaxing and calming space to wind down in. Similarly, the pattern on your tissue box probably designed to cheer you up just a little bit after a sneeze.
